Why do Pakistanis love water, but hate ice????

"DON'T FREEZE THAT WATER!!!"

Having worked in the restaurant business for a very, very long time. I have observed many funny quirks about different groups of people, but none quite as interesting as the love hate relationship between Pakistanis and H2O. Pakistanis will always order water as sure as they will not tip, but they always also insist that the water be served without ice. This is such a curious phenomenon to me, why do these people have such a grudge against water when it changes state? Do they also hate H2O when it breaks into gaseous form I wonder? I'm sure it isn't a cleanliness issue because the guests usually smell like a bums nut-sack to begin with. We certainly can't assume a hygiene concern when they are a typically smelly, and dirty people to begin with. What does this leave us with? Poor dental hygiene which causes teeth to ache when confronted with very cold materials....perhaps. More likely though is a simple propensity to be annoying, and cheap at the same time.
