Adios pickle! The end of Kellie Pickler’s reign of terror on American Idol is finally upon us, and let me be the first to say thank God. Listening to Kellie try to sign a real song is a lot like poking yourself in the eye repeatedly; accept that if you went blind you wouldn’t appreciate the performance at all. Pickler’s version of unchained melody was about as satisfying as Ashlee Simpson on Saturday night live, but without the excitement of the after jokes. She was cute and all, but that shouldn’t be enough.
I must say this has to be the greatest top five in Idol history, everyone left can certainly sing. It’s going to be curious if entertainment value comes in play now, will Taylor’s craziness boost his scorers? Will Chris rock us into submission? And will Katharine finally show us some more….range?
