God bless Boston Brewing company
This past sunday was NFL playoff time and naturally it seemed a good time to sip on a beer or twelve. My local beer store had a special on Sam Adams cases, and as luck would have it they had in stock two varitieties of mixers. A winter pack, and a regular mix bag. The Sam Adams packs are like christmas day for beer fans, and by beer fans I mean people with taste (you do not ride the silver bullet, or any other beer whose tops twist off by hand). Sam Winter is a treat, and one of few reasons I look forward to cold weather. The orange and winter spice make this robust beer unique and flavorful but unlike most pich your nose and gag down holiday beers, Sam Adams is subtle with its unique flavors. I next move into cranberry lambic a truly gratifying experience. Again the cranberry is subtle and only truly plays on your taste buds a second after swallow. The Lambic still holds true to the robust Sam Adams taste we all have grown accustomed to. The packs also includes a nice black ale, old fezziwig ale (similar to the winter, slightly more powerful with its winter spice), holiday porter, hefeweizen, Boston ale and a Scotch ale. In all fairness the Boston ale and Scotch ale were sampled over taste buds that had been beaten to death by a full Sundays worth of excessive beer and hot wing abuse that only the NFL playoffs can deliver.
Holiday pack 4 Stars!
Variety pack 4 stars!
Sam Adams is the true king of beers, and completely uncontested as far as I'm concerned.
